They couldnt because some Muslim organization threatened to bomb their HQ. I belive it was in the news somewhere ill search it up. Yes all religions has their crazies but just seems to be that Muslims get to hardcore about it. Nothing wrong with having a strong faith but if your going to kill someone over it.... yea....

I guess you have to consider Flyon as Flyon not whole the Muslims.
it is an English language prominent site and as I see Muslims who can write in English could come here that are mostly from Pakistan and India!

I have seen in Persian language sites people challenge Islam, Religion, God, prophet Mohammad, Koran as well. also we have a lot of Jokes about them.
I guess if I tell some of them will banned permanently!

The moderate side of Islam is something I think more people need to see. Honestly, I took it all with a grain of salt until I started seeing many of the Muslim posts on this forum. Its one thing to have a media outlet tell you people are intolerant. It is quite another to have Muslims directly expressing intolerance in no uncertain terms.

Unfortunately, I have my doubts about whether posting Mohammad jokes on this forum would get you banned. It amazes me that such sites exist and are frequented by people from a country run by Islamic clerics. Is this representative of the Iranian population? It has to be hard to tell for an outsider, since so few Iranians appear in forums like this one.

maybe I should not claim that. rarely have seen Iranian in international forums and chat sites maybe because rather to chat in Persian. even Iranian who knows English or who live outside of Iran come to Persian sites more.

    anyway try this site
    http://www.iranian.com/main/blog/jahanshah-javid/wheres-mohammad
please read comments too, will find more joke in comments.

for Iranian he is symbol of Justice. we grow up with his stories, a brave man who helped poor people, never corrupted and even helped Jewish people and so on but when you read Islam history will see different things!

    I completely agree! But...

Freedom of Speech is a guarantee that the government won't suppress your speech. It does NOT apply to private entities or corporations.

If you work for Dell, dell does not grant you the freedom of speech to tell Compaq how Dell builds their laptops. That could send you to jail.

Look, I've been running an online forum since 2001. It's not as large as DP, but it's a damn handful and it is specifically targeted towards management and leadership. Because of it's size, I get people who post things completely off-topic and then scream "freedom of speech" when I delete their post.

Please take another look at Sean's posts here. Look at his figures.
I've noticed that the people on this thread screaming for their right to insult others have completely missed the enormity of the work that these figures imply. I can understand that short, symbolic act of protest, but when someone deliberately targets an attack that is designed to incite someone to behave in a certain manner - whether it's a verbal insult on Mohammad or the Virgin Mary, or a violent protest against a cartoon - IMO these are lazy people deliberately trying to create work for others while they sit back and feel entertained.

In my forum, I have to moderate posts from people who think that they are entitled to give me work to do - entitled. They are there for free, and I am there to work, whether I like it that day or not. I figured out some time ago that some posters have learned how to insult and harass just under the limit of deleting and banning. These people generate the most amount of work for me. What they don't realize is that after awhile, if they catch me on a bad day, I'll look at another of their annoying but non-bannable posts and ask myself "does this person really contribute to the discussion"? By that, I mean, I'll look at their style of writing and see if they are contributing and encouraging - are they making meaningful arguments - or are they just writing "dictator statements" (ex: "It's clear that martians landed in Arkansas") and insisting that everyone must agree.

You're not entitled to create work for others. I've noticed that the people online screaming "freedom of speech" for the sake of freedom of speech often want the safety of anonymity to deliberately hurt others.
