Digitalpoint Directory

Digitalpoint Directory - With all these directories about how about a Digitalpoint Directory so that members can submit their sites too

Think it might be a good idea to tie it up with a min post system

But knowing shaun if he did one it would go like a train and would be nice for a only Digitalpoint members directory

Ok it will take a few hours to set up ( shaun hours would take me weeks ) but if controlled like the COOP to keep out the pants and coupled with the min posts to submit , then would become a nice add on to the Digitalpoint forum

Worth a thought or should I put down my glass of wine :p

Supose you could set one up and let people volunteer to run it for you, then those people can become corrupt and accept payment to be added to the directory.. ah sorry thinking of another directory :D

Anyway you could setup one and let the members here run it :)

Members can already setup a directory and run it. They don't need me for that. :)

It is not so much about the direct, but indirect revenue boost a forum brings. While a forum makes little if anything, it certainly does help boost things in other areas. Think of a forum as more like a piece of the pie, or a cog in the wheel. I've got a forum whose revenue accounts for less than 2% of total revs for a group of 5 sites. However, the traffic and visitors it generates to the rest of the group is certainly nothing to take for granted.

Although Shawn doesn't need anything else to do (like approve directory links), it's not a bad idea! I'm a member over at suicidegirls.com and they just started a directory (you have to be a member to post a listing, so it's not all spammed out) and I'm actually getting quality traffic from it.

A DP directory would be useful if you need a minimum number of posts and more then one green rep bar to post a listing (or something like that...). That way we could actually find quality listing for stuff we need. For example, there are many talented members here that offer web design, seo, web hosting, etc and I would definately use a DP Directory to source out projects. Good way to drive business to members! Oh, and no affiliate sites should be allowed, or else they should be tagged as affiliate sites.

Just my two cents. I'd be happy to help out if it ever did happen.

My thoughts exactly. At least that way you sorta know who you're doing business with as well...if you use the sites in the directory.
