DigitalPoint.com 's Yahoo Webrank

Don't take this hard... but I think the digitalpoint.com Yahoo Webrank tool is a hoax. I don't believe it's connecting to yahoo to rank a page at all. Not only is there no other code anywhere on the internet (like their is for the google PR algorithm), but very popular sites come up with webranks that are blank (I am guessing means zero).

That being said, I would like to extend an invitation to share the code to show that it does infact connect to Yahoo. The biggest reason this shouldn't be a very big issue (to share the code) is the WebRank seems to be proving worthless as a valid tool for SEO purposes or any other purpose for that matter.

It does not speak of your coding skills by any means. I just think there is no real value in the tool. Actually, the only real value is all of the traffic you are potentially driving to your website for the listings in the search engines for the webrank keywords.

So what do you say? Will you show it or not?

Nope sorry... It's quite possible Yahoo made some changes that would make it not work. Web Rank showed up in a limited beta toolbar from Yahoo like a year and a half ago and I haven't heard anything about it since. I assumed they abandoned/depreciated it completely. If they actually ever release it, I'll look at the code again and see what they changed since their initial beta... but not worth my time if Yahoo never makes it public on their toolbar since no one knows about it.

Have you had a chance to check your code? I would be willing to accept it if you could at least provide a url or something where we can pull the webrank. For example... I can show you the google page rank for www.digitalpoint.com in a URL as follows:
    http://www.google.com/search?client=navclient-auto&ch=6617438276&q=info:www.digitalpoint.com

it doesn't explain how I wrote the code or got the information, but it clearly posts to Google, and will show you have a rank of 7 by looking down the page you will see <RK>7</RK>, thus showing that I truly know the Google Page Rank for your website.

Will you provide something similar showing you are pulling a true web rank from yahoo?

If not, this is where I call your bluff... that the code is not really what the website says it is.

I look forward to your response.

No, check my previous post. I'm not even going to think about the code unless Yahoo actually releases Web Rank. But to answer your other question, Yahoo Web Rank is sourced from http://cpn.yahoo-webrank.net/ri/ri
