I thought for this community to have something like Google Answers. A special category or something.

    You know ?

A user asks a question, other users answer, and the original user who asked the question, will give a reward (whatever the pot will be. Rep, links, etc etc.) to the one that answered best, in the original poster's opinion.

What do you guys think ?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sounds like a good idea to me, which usually signals the end of anything before it can go any further. :D

Isn't that we do here all day in the most of the forums (html, php...)?

Someone asks, some others reply, we end up with (or not) with the solutions (sometimes a few different ones), and sometimes you'll get repped for your help.

The only difference is that others won't see the value the one asking gave to the reply. But for this, simply ask people to post back if they found your help useful.

Yes it is. But this is another thing. It's more challenging. Not just a forum.

I guess everybody has an opinion.

    Sure,

I didn't get the challenge spirit. And now it sounds better to me. However I'm still not sure of the idea.

It seems like it would go against the nature of the spirit of the forum.

    What did I win?

    I don't understand you.

Anyway... You didn't win anything. Usually you have to give, to receive :)

PS: Neg rep : Digitalpoint Answers Dec 21st 2005 10:24 pm Thumbs down.

Hate this people. At least give a reason man for the negative rep, and say your name. :)

If somebody helps someone then they are likely to get a positive rep (green) given to them for doing so from the person they helped. So isn't your suggestion useless here?

Exactly my point .. You could'nt said this better. :)

If somebody helps someone then they will get a positive rep (green) for doing so from the person they helped.

I actually maintain the largest SEO forum in Romania, and am part of the most important developing/design coomunities in here. SOme mebers jsut don;t get the recognition they diserve, whilst others get it and they actually did'nt do a quarter :)

And Hey! We'll have our own Digitalpoint answers. The Times will write about this :). They will put as a backlink in the printed newspaper ;)

Dude, every time you make a post with the word 'red rep' in it, you'll get even more people to give you red. The unpardonable sin here is complaining about that red stuff!! And....
