    Hi !
I use to visit DP longtime, but I never thought it will be one of my source for my thesis ( my thesis about Internet marketing ), I really enjoyed reading the treads and even start to make deals here, at the luck of academic education for SEO, forums plays very important role to educate people and guide them, and for the SEO I believe the best way to learn, is in such forums with practice. I prefer to learn the SEO in here because it will save my time, people who already went through what I am already in, they could simply share the experience and even I consider this way is better then reading books, because books can't keep up-to-date in this subject, and the experience of people is the best references, this is what I think, am I the only one thinking this way ?
hope to hear from you more ;)

Using forums as a source of 'academic' information, has as much credibilty as asking a bloke in a bar.
Use it as a place to shoot the breeze, get some ideas to check out, chat, argue -but never never take anything you read on ANY forum as reliable information without checking it out from several other more authoritative sources.

Some posts in the forums can be misleading. This is not to say that forums does not provide education but some posts by newbies in the particular theme can be misleading until and unless it has been taken from a reliable source and the name/url of the source is given.

Even when I joined DP forums, I must say that I got really good information from DP. Almost all DP persons here were helpful and still are. Whenever the answers that i received had some confusion or doubt, i double checked the information from the web.

So, in that way, it can be good source of information but don't trust it completely if you are in doubt and needs more info or clarification. Double check the info from the web.

So, I voted on the both Forum as well as Practising.

I think you will fail if you use some of the advice giving by most people here.

I've never seen so many so called "SEO's" giving out useless and pointless information.

The best thing to do is go to real SEO forums. That way you gain real knowledge which you can apply to your own site and do well.

It's very simple, the best way to learn SEO is by doing.

I agree you really cannot trust a lot of what is said in a forum, gather opinions and then make your own decision. In just 1 week in here I have read a lot of comments about seo that are stated as fact by users that is just FLAT OUT WRONG. be careful, hear opinions and do your own research.
