That is true, I hadnt really considered it that way. I spent over a year with the tracker before I bothered with the forums and really the forum is an extension to the site. Is alexa accurate in the hundreds? I know even 50,000 is competely fixable... and it obviously gets harder the higher you get but I am wondering whether by that point you can still influence your rank at all? or how much ?
Beats me... I never tried to "fix" them. I don't have the Alexa Toolbar installed myself (1. I'm a Mac OS X user, and 2. I use Firefox when I do use Windows machines). I would guess it's probably *relatively* accurate once you are in the top (lower?) 10,000 or so.
I guess it we will never really know. Hitwise is probably a better option once you get right up there. Im in your position, powerbook ? I try and avoid IE at the moment. Safari is simplier + faster but its the light up keyboard that realy gets me everytime. The new osx is due v.soon. I wonder how the dashboard will work compared to konfabulator ? also, will the mac widget be compatable ? - not upgrading unless it is, hate manually looking for PR.
I mostly use a tower, although I have a PB (which is about due for an upgrade/replacement actually). If you haven't updated to 10.3.9 already, you should... Safari is much better/faster vs. 10.3.8. I'll probably make the PR widget work with Dashboard.
well Im sure if you save up your pocket money, one day your dream will come true! Honestly.. its not actually as great as it seems..nice novelty. occasionally it helps in the dark a little, but the light from the screen means its actually not necessary.. The grey keys are much nicer (than the ugly black ones). Battery power + the fact it contains mecury are the downsides. Now if the PB could pay music whilst shut that would be worthwhile.
I just have my Dell Laptop ... XPS ... don't need anything or want anything, our servers are in LA and so are the guys who program for us. The less I have to know, the better.....
SitePoint and Digitalpoint are it for me. I can smell hidden agendas 10 miles against the wind, therefor searchenginewatch and webmasterworld are on my visit only as needed and don't inhale too much list.
Well, Sitepoint is getting so many recommendations, visited a few times.. but never really paid too much attention. I will have to take a good look.
