digital product in eBay

Just wonder can we sell digital product like ebook or picture in eBay? Has been a while I don't see people selling this on eBay anymore. Please help as I just completed one of my eBook and wish to sell it on eBay. Please comments. Thanks

In a controversial move which has many regular users up in arms, auction site eBay has chosen to ban the listing of digital download items in the main auction categories.

Instead of being able to list a standard auction – which can run for anything from three days upwards and cost very little – any items which are purely digital will have to be placed in a more expensive 'classifieds' advertisement, which costs a whopping $10. Products covered under the new rules include MP3 downloads, ebooks, and personally-created software for which there is no physical component such as a CD-ROM.

I guess, If you wanted to, you could burn the book onto a disc and sell it that way

You cant sell digital goods on ebay, new policy prohibits that~
However you can if you ship the item in CD's

 

Ebay use to allow selling of digital products but now if you want to do that you need to use their classified ads section which obviously wont get nearly as much hits but it does work. A word of advide dont try to sell a digital product on Ebays auction site because they will limited your paypal account and delete your ebay account.

 

I never tried those eBay Classified service, do you thinks its really good to sell physical products there?

 

are we talking about ebay US here? or all ebay?

Because they are still selling web hosting on ebay - and thats a digital product... and there are powersellers selling it - so Im not sure what you guys mean here..

i knew they don't allow digital products, but i've seen people selling websites and ebooks. i personally never bought from them so i can't really say

 

Digital products won't make you money, they are too cheap.

 

Thats not a very smart thing to say...

Digital products are 100% profits and usually NO setup or running costs.

Ive made a living from digital products for the last 5 years...

 

digital products are a way to get traffic IMO......

thats why you see so many auctions which yield almost NO profit to the seller.......this is because they are a way to get traffic to his website in the about me page.

 

You can't send by digital delivery, only by cd!

 

copyright issues have stopped many ebooks being sold

 

check out the latest policy released by ebay and be aware of it, cause many people have been banned

digital product should sell on classified categories with high listing fee.
that's not good for your bussiness.

I suggest you to sell CD's, not the contain.
but you offer to customer to downloads, so no need to pay shipping fee.
I think it still works nowadays. CMIIW

 

their policy does not allow the selling of digital products. but i still see sellers from outside the US selling them for a long time. maybe the international ebay is not as strict as the US ebay.

 

u can sell this on ebay but they don't sell very well, low perceived value

I don't believe any digital product can be sold. I was selling a macro program that I made, and since the person never "received" an item, they told me I couldn't sell it anymore.. However, if you say its on a disc, then you can sell it. But ask the buyer if they would like to just download it, they can. They usually choose to download since they receive it instantly. Make sense?
