As a guess I would say about 2/3 of members would drop away quickly.

Yeah I know about that - but who actually looks at digitalpoint.com without putting "forum" in front of it :) ? I'm pretty sure Shawn is doing OK. I'd be far more likely to help Shawn help a charity. And it would give DP a nice warm fuzzy feeling too :p

Yea, that's true - but wouldn't it be able to recover?

I think this is the difference between other forums and DP...

Other forums try to get $$ as much as they can... like sitepoint... Market place need you to buy credits for listing.... but on DP its Free....

I think it will be a BAD idea to implement payments at DP.

LOL...DP would have probably 3 members left. That would be Shawn, Rob and Nintendo....LOOOOL

I don't think so. Honestly, I can't see the sense in a move in that direction. As others mentioned, Shawn does not need the extra cash...He's doing rather well

If DP did charge I and a handful of well trusted members would most likely leave. We don't want to pay to list ads like you do on SP, thats why we don't go there as much.

Trust me, DP is not stupid and they know charging for membership just wont work like it used to.

DP will never be paid in my opinion, but I would pay around $50.00 USD per month max. Hope never have to though =[

$20/month would my "ideal" price if DP were to become a membership forum (highly unlikely)
