I saw this advert at the top of the page in this website: I think, IF THEY CAN, digitalpoint should ban adverts for this kind of company. Spam should definately not be encouraged. The company advertising reckons they email 2.5 million targetted people who have opted in, for $25. This to me sounds like major bullshit and they should be shut down. Definately shouldn't be allowed to advertise on whatever network digitalpoint uses?
Yea - but who is to decide if they are spamming , It could be opted in stuff, Look at sitemeter.com for example , when you sign up you can opt in for like 300 frickin things..... So it might be legit, Its an ad dude......not an ax murderer ......
Yeah. I know its not the end of the world, its just an ad banner. Just thought I'd bring it up. In the search engine world some things are a grey area, but spam is definately a wrong. Of course, I have never used this company's services (and don't intend to). But if something is too good to be true, then its usually is. Of course the DP staff are fantastic, we all love this forum! Just if it was advertising on one of my websites I wouldn't be happy.
lol...it could also be taken as "Email millions of recipients daily Spam" -[for] "Free" I had to read it twice...lol
Erm... Nobody who has has a 2 million (or more) strong genuine email list rents it out for pennies. The fact that they say "spam free", would most likely be a breach of trade descriptions act in the UK.
They are in New York though, so I don't think they really care about the trade descriptions act... though I do agree with you, it is most likely spam (i know i'd be selling my list for a hell of a lot more...lol)...
It looks as though it's $24.99 a month for a once daily use of their opt-in email list: http://www.inetgiant.com/email_blaster.html Meh. It sounds like they have an outdated, overused, essentially worthless email list that they're trying to rent.
yes it is defenitely spamming! no user wants to get spam emails by opting-in these lists! perhaps dp should filter out these ads! this thread should be in the suggestions and feedback section though
Google is the one that should be doing something about this. If they allow these kind of ads, then it's like they also allow spamming. --Joe
