No use jousting with MaryMary, Minstrel.

I don't think she's nosy but I've heard that she can be quite contrary. :D;)

I think minstrel has the right to ask that you point him to the exact thread/post you are referring to when making statements like
since this is public discussion and others might want to get your point, too. Otherwise send him a PM instead. Not a judge here but it doesn't sound ok when you make "accuses" and refuse to bring the evidence.

Anyway, forum members have to accept the details they are given in cases like this one since it isn't about excitement and changes aren't meant to introduce new features when owners a talking about overload. I think their message was like "hey, this is the reason why we can hardly be contacted... and we will take some attitude to change this so you can actually reach us."

Then I'd just close the tread.
    We got the note.

    1) Start using frontbridge - http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/services/default.mspx

It will filter out 99.99% of your spam.

    2) Charge the B/S forums a % on an item or service only if it sells.

    3) Use an answer service that acts as an extension of your company so that you can only return calls that are business related.

These three items saved a client of mine a lot of valuable time.

My guess (as a few other folks have pointed out) is a lack of time on Shawn's part. Similar to the Server fundraiser, maybe we can have a time fundraiser ... with a goal of 1,000,000,000 seconds! ;-)

Seriously, be curious to see what ends up happening - good luck Shawn.

That's what I figured as well. I don't use the thing, but I poke in there from time to time. So I thought it was a heads up about that. Possibly dropping support for it and not offering upgrades or something. That was my initial thought.

Maybe split DP into two web sites. One with the business stuff and the other with Religon , politics and stuff. And link both of course.

Auto Delete post that don't have a certain number of responses.

The paid sub sounds good. $25-$40 a year.

Exactly. 90% of the posters in this thread continue to miss the point that the forum is merely a tiny component of the DigitalPoint empire.

And no statement has been made as to imply that the forum is part of the reason for restructuring.

Who said I was addressing the Phone calls?
But if the insurance companies and banks can use a automated phone system
with menus, that maybe an option.

Or just get a new phone number.

You did not say anything about phone calls, the thing is that DP said the phone calls was the problem. You said that he should be adressing the amount of forum posts, DP has said nothing to indicate that that's a problem.

But you're not alone, almost everyone has misread and is coming with suggestions about the non problematic forum.
