Allowing the old members to be nominated does NOT prevent younger members to be nominated IMO.

In fact I think it does. I mean everybody would want to nominate someone they know. To get people to know you you'll need to post. The longer you are here the more posts you have and the morepeople will know you.

MaryMary - don't read many of her posts, but the ones I do read are always quality
nico_swd - extremely helpful in the programming section
georgeb - logical guy in the P&R forum, enjoy his posts
You! - rip off of the '06 TIME person of the year, just thought it would be funny

for explaining how to do something in photoshop to me, in about a page of writing. This really shows kindness, especially as that kindness is not advertised in such a way as a public post is, because it was in private, and answered all my questions.
