Sellers now get emails when bids are made on their auctions as well as when the auction ends.

Why not some kind of direct notifications in DP itself .. that way emails wont be spammed with updates

Well maybe u can make a new account called "DP Bot" or something specially for that.. (oh yea if u do that u may have to face a dp ban for multiple accounts lol ) :D

Actually isnt it possible to make it like how we have visitor message notification, incoming friends notification something similar to that ? would need more programming but that way its kool and easy to manage

We'll see after we get vB4 online... really not in the mood to make major changes, only to have to redo them soon.

Auctions that have a least 1 bid, but no auction end date set will automatically end 7 days after the last bid.

I just wished there were regulations on the kind of offers sold in the marketplace. Quality offers, quality forum.

Cheap offers makes a forum a real bad name. People just bump posts here in this forum to get themselves noticed. What about quality contribution? Very few understand this concept unfortunately...

After all, you would have read the "why is always have to be a cheap writer?" thread within this forum, correct?

I moved from this forum to another popular forum because this forum does not regulate the quality of offers and postings on a stringent level!

And how exactly would you suggest us regulating "quality offers"? :)

It's simple. Quality members can only provide quality offers.

    Have a thanks button.

Moderate each offer placed in the marketplace.

Create authority over the online marketplace by moderating the dp forums marketplace.

I have so many ideas. I felt demoralized and started searching other ways to get past this "low-gig" atmosphere in this forum.

I'll elaborate a few. PM me.

The problem with moderating every offer in the marketplace is that there are far too many and then it also becomes subjective... what's low-quality to one person might be high-quality to another.

Take me for example... I'd just blanket anything sold for less than $1,000 is low quality and any service offered for less than $100/hour is also low quality, anything to do with link sales, link exchanges would automatically be low-quality (regardless of price). But that's my subjective opinion and one that probably isn't shared by everyone else.

So rather than try to subjectively decide what is high and low quality, it would be better to allow users to filter stuff and let THEM decide what is high/low quality based on their filters.

As far as the marketplace not being moderated at all, that is not correct. Looking just at the first page of the marketplace, I see 33 threads that were deleted by moderators (my settings are set to show 100 per page), so that's ~1/3 of all threads that were moderated/deleted for being inappropriate.

A quality offer is result oriented.

Look the laws of the internet cannot be replaced.

Honestly Shawn, look at the warrior forum. They have regulated the forum well enough.

When I go around the internet I hate it when people say we'd rather not have another dp forum (No offence). That's why, WF became a paid forum from being completely free. Free is not valued.

Just get all members to be committed to learn and help others with determination in this forum. It works. It's a very basic thing. Everyone wants moolah. But people don't really understand "reputation", do they?

This place is great. It needs some policing.

Out of 5 thread only 2 of them have quality content. The whole marketplace is filled with cheap low paying offers. There is no place for quality based result-oriented experts in the marketplace offered within dp forums.

So you are asking us to test out every offer made and judge the results? You realize of course there have been 700,000+ offers made in the B/S/T so far, and about 1000 new ones per day (and growing). If I had to pick doing that or just shutting down B/S/T, I would just shut it down.

As far as being a paid vs. free forum for sake of perception, we already have that option, and some premium members only sell to other premium members (or offer them special deals) within the private forum for them.
