This may be a silly question but does using Digital Point free keyword traking program violates Google Terms of agreement? see below No Automated Querying You may not send automated queries of any sort to Google's system without express permission in advance from Google. Note that "sending automated queries" includes, among other things: using any software which sends queries to Google to determine how a website or webpage "ranks" on Google for various queries; "meta-searching" Google; and performing "offline" searches on Google.
You are reading the wrong TOS. The keyword tracker does not use Google's web search. http://www.google.com/apis/api_terms.html
Thank you Shawn! I had a feeling it was a silly question but I had to ask... Now I understand better.
Hi, Shawn, I am trying to understand the API's TOS. It does say: "The Google SOAP Search API service is designed to be used in conjunction with Google's search services. Accordingly, your use of Google SOAP Search API is also defined by Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. " Can't this be read as Google's search TOS also applicable to the use of API? Thanks, Lzr
I see, but where is the conflict? Where does API TOS says we can send auto queries? Don't get me wrong- I am using DigitalPoint tracker weekly- I just want to get to the bottom of this to be sure I won't be penalized. Regards, Lzr
Uh, you can't send anything BUY automated queries. That's what the API is for/does. If you don't want to use, don't use it.
