    Hi there,

This may sound like a dumb question but - hey - it's my first day here so be gentle with me

Just joined and I see the option withint the User CP to put my AdSense information in there. Does everyone else already do this? Is it worth while? I'm guessing it works with Google's TOS......

Any advice would be gratefully receieved :)

P.S. I did do a quick check in past posts but couldn't find the answer to my question so sorry if it's been asked a million times before

It works, technically, but webmaster type people are notoriously disinterested in the ads and only interested in the forum so you won't make enough for a pack of gum. Dominic runs a homeless charity and a few of us use his google ads id here and not our own.

Well, you need to meet certain number of posts first in order to qualify for this Google thing. So I would like to know this answer too.. thanks

Oops - just found the post in the FAQ section. Bad newbie.

Mind you it's also raised another interesting point. It's against Google TOS to click on your ads. After a qualifying period, as far as I can see, you have a 50% chance that ads displayed in your posts are yours. What happens if you see an ad you really want to click on? Do you take the chance it's DP's 50% or risk your AdSense account?

Do what you'd do on your own site. Mouse over, right click, copy link location, paste into notepad, find the url, visit the site

If you are logged in, ads won't show for you with your pub-id, so there is no risk on clicking your own ads.

I'd never thought of doing that. Thanks for the great tip.

That doesnt work..A click on an ad gets you to a temporary link before being redirected to the actual advertiser page..So, even if you copy-paste, it gets counted as a click since the redirection happens anyway...

They are referring to the actual URL of the page, not the adsense URL.
