Digital phone or traditional?

The big push for digital phone is about but is it the way to go? How reliable is it, when you dont have a phone when the electric goes out (no 911).

I think I will wait and stay "traditional"(with the phone company)

    What about you?

Yeah, our kids were after us for years to get a cell phone.
Then last year, after I retired and we were in the process of selling our house, and ended up in a motel for a few days until closing and get on the road for Iowa, went across the street to wally world and got a prepaid cell phone.
It was funny, as the first time it rang, we were coming back from Houston in the uhaul truck with our van on the rear on a carrier.
Wife says to me, what in the hell is that chirpy noise?
Then it hit us, it was the phone in her purse!

    More hilarity about that phone.
So all the kids, when we called them and told them our cell number, welcomed us to the 21st century!
Still have that prepaid, it just sucks up electricity to keep recharging.
Never bothered to change the phone number, so still a Texas area code and number.

    Go to Target, Radio Shack.
Now they may look and feel like the old dial phone, but actually they are digital.

Are you referring to cordless phones as "digital phones"?

Or do you really still have a rotary dial phone?

I was referring to "digital phone" as a phone service you receive from the cable company and "traditional" is service from the phone company. I'm glad I cleared that up..

I just got a digital phone line - it's great. Alot clearer, very nice. Especially if whoever you are talking ot has it as well. And no, it does not go out when the power does.

    I would highly reccomend it!

I have digital phone and like it. My wife thinks it "breaks up" a lot. I like how it's cheaper.
