Hey, im a bit new to selling digital items, however how do you people setup the digital download stores, perhaps using paypal as credit card processor? I mean like some one clicks to buy it, then he's taken to a payment form and can start the download automaticly. Thanks@
Paypal was developed around online auctions so does not quite have any real facility for digital download stores. However, there is a rudimentary method which you can use and that is to use the 'Buy Now Buttons' option under Merchant Services. In which you need to set up the Advance Option for the Successful return URL. Basically what you can do is to add either a direct link to your software or something to that nature. Make sure that if you plan to use this method, to use a non-descriptive URL and also to encrypt the buy now button. Alternatively, you should take a look at some shopping cart scripts for software. In my case, I just use http://www.plimus.com which is developed around digital downloads and software.
Hi viitols, I have just post my finding and solution at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=787694. Basically, I am using the FREE Zen Shopping Cart integrate with Paypal solution. It work fine for me and I can received the payment instantly through Paypal and delivered the products instantly too. There are some configuration need to go setup the whole shopping cart application. It may take some time to setup your digital products one by one. Anyway, is good to start your own online business. Take a look at my Shopping Cart http://www.ebooks-resale-rights.com Anyway, the look and feel can be change from time to time by switching the new template. Cheers....
Hey Thanks for all the replies, but Im looking for something without using special shopping car soft. Looks like i should try to use the paypal button.
I do not recommend plimus - I had a very bad experience with them as a customer because of their lack of support I do not trust plimus anywmore I do recommend Payloadz ( http://www.payloadz.com ) or Clickbank ( http://www.clickbank.com ) and you will also be able to get affiliates selling your products
Thanks for all advices. I'm not american that means i do not like to get paid by check. Yeah, its no problem to withdraw it but it takes a hell lot of time and time is what i havent got. Thus clickbank is very nice indeed, it pays by check and thats not kind a thing i am looking for. PayLoadz looks great, i think i might take a look at the percentage of sales account type. Thanks for suggesting me that. Also e-junkie could not be the perfect solution because it lacks webspace and if i need 1GB, then i have to pay more than in payloadz. However can anyone recommend something like clickbank, but supporting paypal? Thanks!
i was just wondering what kinda evidence we can produce in case of disputes, when we r dealing with e-books / softwares / other intangible products
One thing i dont like about some of these scripts or solutions is that they require you to login and create a username instead of just directing you to paypal and back to a secure download. I want a one click option for a user to purchase a product. I have been using e-junkie which is a good setup, but they dont offer much storage space for the price
