Nikon coolpix is good to choose. Search the web for the configuration and depending on your budget, zero in on the model you like to purchase.

The technology has vastly improved over the last 5 years. You should be able to buy a good quality camera for well under $200. Coolpix, Cannon and Kodak are the only one with which I have personal experience.

Keeping the search simple; within your budget look for opitical zoom first, megapixel count is second and any other fetures you want as the rest of the rating process. The bigger the better for those first two items. Though the truth is any 3.1 MP or higer camera will take fine quality 4x6 print size pics and you don't even need that for web-quality pics.

Right now you can find a Nikon coolpix for under 120.00 on sale and they take darn good pics at 8 megapixel.
