Will someone please explain exactly what a digg and stumble are, their purpose and how to digg or stumble someones "what ever it is you stumble or digg"? Thanks
I hope this helps a bit. www.digg.com is a site that shows good articles from around the internet to it's members. Since there are so many articles they have made a concept of which if you "dig" the site then you click the "digg it" button which bumps up the article in the ranking in the digg site. By geting people to dig te site you get more visitors which result in revenue.
stumbleupon is a great way to get eyes on your site and to build some links! A few stumblers clicking the little thumbs up on your site can bring in tons of traffic, sometimes very quickly. However, usually StumbleUpon traffic does NOT convert. But it can be great for PPC ads! Also, your site will be linked in loads of StumbleUpon user profiles when they click the thumbs up, so you get some free links
OK, thanks, I now understand that part - more diggs the better your chance are someone else will visit your site - a potential sale. That out of the way, I assume stumble is the same thing. One thing for sure. I Digg Fna on stumble!! fna.stumbleupon.com/"
stubleupon is really starting to bring a good deal of visitors to my site now. one of my sites gets more vistors from stumbleupon then anywhere else
Would an article on my Lodge in Costa Rica or on investing in Costa Rica real estate investors be likely to draw any interest, or is the main content pointed in a different direction?
Here's a link from an independent study about the no-follow links... Conclusion to this study: ====================================== Therefore, even links with the No Follow attribute do have value; especially in the counting, but not always authoritative measurement, of backlinks. ========================== http://www.searchenginejournal.com/how-google-yahoo-askcom-treat-the-no-follow-link-attribute/4801/ Also, please have a look at my other posts where I have included some proofs of massive traffic you get from Web2.0 sites StumbleUpon, PLime, Propeller etc etc... plus the "How to's" Done correctly, promoting or sumitting your stories (ads) to these sites, will set you apart from the rest that either end up not getting any traffic or had theor accounts banned by these web2.0 sites...
Check out onlywire.com, they will handle submitting to about 16 social networking sites for you with just one click. Very useful.
I have sometimes seen explosion of traffic after digg and stumbleupon. At other times, there were no impact at all - it kind of depends on the right timing, IMHO. Even explosive traffic dies after 3 days at most - but your links remain in many places, sometimes even high PR sites (make sure your content is great ). As others noted, this traffic does not really result in ad clicks - these folks seem to have a quick peek and hit "back" sooner that you can think Still useful, especially to build reputation for a quality site. I saw a number of people post that social bookmarking has added a tremendous amount of traffic to their sites, and for some I have no doubt it has. However, I have recieved virtually no traffic from the social bookmarking sites I have marked. Perhaps it is simply too young? Or need more Diggs? My $0.02 = bookmark them but initially don't expect a tremendous amount from them. I get more traffic from Wiki than anything else.
