Does anyone use digg for SEO? For the sake or Backlinks or free publicity?

Also one of my blogs has been banned by digg. Not sure why, I dont even recall using their service. Does anyone know how to clear my site?

Once a domain has been banned by Digg, they will never unblock the website. One of my websites was banned, and I emailed the team and their reply basically stated that once a domain is banned, the banning will never be removed. I ended up running a redirection service to get my articles on Digg from now on.

Getting on the front page of Digg is a dream come true from an SEO point of view because of the expected increase in backlinks from said event. Many people try to create linkbait type content just ot get on Digg for SEO. I don't bother with doing that but I always figured that if some of my content is good enough it will make it on Digg at some point.

If you are banned from Digg try sending them an email to see if they will remove the ban. If you want to get around it yourself then you can just try a redirect method that might not be detectable by Digg for now.

In most of the cases the users are banned as they have been dugg +1, from multiple accounts on the same ip address, send them email at feedback at digg dot com to reinstate your blog and wait for their reply.

Wait, banning seems extreme doesn't it? If getting accepted into digg = a + for SEO. Would banning send off any alarms to google and effect your PR?

Google and Digg have nothing to do with each other and getting banned from Digg will not change your PR or SERPs. In fact, Google won't even know that you have been banned. People are getting a bit neurotic about Google :)

It is very likely because if people don't like them they will burry the posts and at some point you will be gone. Something like that happened to PaulStamatiou.com when he started his blog and all his posts were posted on Digg. Some were good but not all so in the end he got banned. And his blog is rather good!

    I would say Yes.

A better idea would be to build up your profile and your friend base on Digg.
With that, you will have a lot more success when you submit stories.

And make sure that only a small percent of the stories you submit are yours.
