Does anyone use Digg & SU for organic? They are both nofollow - but I'm assuming everyone does it for direct traffic.
There are certain social bookmarking sites that are "do-follow". Check out this list and see if it helps. http://www.caroline-middlebrook.com/blog/do-follow-social-bookmarking-sites/
Can't beat Digg for real traffic but does it convert, return or do anything useful other than gobble up bandwidth?
I am wondering if digg nofollow then how my backlinks showing from digg.com, I think Digg's comment section may Nofollow.
I firmly believe a link is a link and Google would expect a percentage of "no follow" links in any back linking profile. It makes the sites linking look much more organic and white hat. As Digg and SU take little time I also believe its worth submitting all new content to them. It might bring traffic which will then link with a "do follow" link so it is bound to be worth it.
Yes, it doesn't convert to anything. It's mainly for traffic, and the hopes that a few % of the people visiting will remember your site and come back the next time or visit other areas of your site. StumbleUpon is worst in conversions, people just constantly rapid-fire click on "stumble " button and the second they dont' like anything about your site, they leave. Sometimes they see the title before it loads and go to next site. Digg won't get you any traffic until you are getting into the front page. And that's very painful to do, even with very viral content. Also bear in mind, that digg submissions should be made for digg-audience. It cannot be just anything. I suggest focusing on your content more than social bookmarking, social bookmarks should be made by fans of your site, not you.
