It seems that for some of these sites (like Digg), this is ok and doesn't penalize you. But for others, like reddit, it's looked down on. Do you agree or disagree? That for each site, a webmaster has to learn a slightly different approach and set of rules?
Yes you are right Some times Digg do n't allow duplicates Better you can outsource social bookmarketing services to DP members..
I believe its fine to bookmark your own sites as long as you bookmark other sites you like as well. If you use social bookmarking sites the way you are suppose to, then there shouldn't be a problem. -Carlo
*shrug* You should only submit interesting/amusing/valuable content to social bookmark sites... hopefully that includes your own site
Don't to that - only links to your site .. That might make your whole account look fishy to the authorities. Better if you spend some more time and randomly digg other articles - better off that way, if you want to do it quicker.
Yeah, I agree. But who has time to leisurely surf around looking for cool sites? I'm too busy programming my own! That's the other problem - how to maintain genuinely helpful, participatory accounts on a half dozen or more bookmarking sites...
It's always a good idea to know which sites are considered the authority on certain topics. Link to those sites along with your own and you'll probably find that you get more traffic than by just linking to yourself, because people will find your other results alongside your links to the "authority sites."
