Even though I did stumbles myself, it actually looks a lot better. Maybe I'll be able to find some free stuff (PS they should of had it where a forum was made for the $5 and under items instead of shoving them in freebies)

Since Freebies is supposed to be free, that's misleading a bit to newbies.

yeah, agree with you.. especially if you check for new post in service section it is free of spam now, earlier the threads related to these services dominating there and no other service providers were getting chance to be seen by the clients coz. there was al around Social bookmarking and all .. even the Social bookamrking sites are now overwhelmed with tons of sites bookmarked there, which is of no use I feel.., coz. SBS is done for those sites which you find really are usefull and you do not want others to spend their time to find that what you have already found and bookmarked... but now the case is different coz. of tons of links original users are really not getting help from these sites ..
Many Thx. Mods, it will really help these SBS sites too to be spam free.

Actually I think this is the right decision. Because such exchanges are not fair.

This is a great idea. Because most of spammers abuse it. They always try to generate high traffic to web sites. I think stumbling should be done in natural way. Not them selves.

this news is good and bad ! Good cause is the right thing , bad cause we now must find another ways to make traffic :(
Before I got good traffic from Stumbleupon , now I must use Adwords , costs a lot of money to get low traffic .
I guess all the traffic to my websites are from Search Engines ... Little but good I think .
Even so , I want back the stumble exchanges :(

traffic that isn't targeted isn't really that useful for most sites. At least with adwords assuming you do strictly searches the traffic is targeted so far more useful.

For the price of stopping illegal activities, it's worth it, DP could have been flagged for allowing illegal activities. Manipulation of Digg/Stumble.. ruins Digg/Stumble.. credibility.

I saw webmaster newcomes write quality articles, then comes to DP Forum asking why there is little incoming traffic, one of the answers could have been found in those sub-forums where less quality articles got digged more (got more traffic) by paying for it, it was not fair.

I'm not sure I fully understand why they were banned but I'm sure there has to be a good reason.

Definitely a good move from DP, nobody wants a forum full of spammy posts. And why create a special forum for them? So they can spam the social bookmarks in peace?

Neah, this is much better, let them create some original content that will become popular on its own!

I guess the reason behind it is because this is a info sharing forum not adver. site for links.

I agree that it is the right to ban these type of threads. It is against digg/stumbleupons TOS and it was one of the reasons why so many accounts was banned at these two sites because people was cheating.

    just a couple of questions

    - am i allowed to add a url for social bookmark service if the url comes from another site?
    - can i post a topic where i will be selling links and when someone contacts me, to give him info for social bookmarks via email? so that Dp won't be used at all? can someone report me if there is no referance from me to social bookmarks to any Dp page/pm ?
