Effective today asking for Diggs, Stumble exchanges, Propeller exchanges and any other kind of social bookmarking/voting exchanges are banned at DP.

All current threads engaging in these activities will be closed and new threads will deleted and infractions will be issued.

You can ask questions about this new rule here but it's not going to change so don't ask or complain.

    See the Official Announcement: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/announcement.php?f=105

    Thanks.

Read that a couple of minutes ago.

    Awesome step taken. :)
That shall hopefully clean up the Freebies section.

    that's really gay banning them
a forum for them would be perfect
but completely banning them is reeeeallllyyyyy gay

how can you ban stumbles but allow the "make millions of dollars in 20 seconds" type threads?

there's loads of them and they're all bullshit.

I just saw the announcement as well, I was shocked.

I would have thought a subforum would have been made.

Are we not entitled to a reason why they are banned? I have no problems with you implementing policy, but how about giving a reason why such policy is being implemented. (Or is top secret and you can not share it with the general population?)

No point. They were just junk. DP was turning into a link-farm.

No, it's not a secret. We (the mod/admin team) just don't want them here. They add nothing to the forum.

    Just one question :

Are adverts. for such services in our signatures allowed ?
(that link to places [other than DP] where users can do this sort of activity)

provided they don't trade iTrader here in DP for that.

No they are not. From the announcement:

"You are not allowed to solicit exchanges or services related to these types of sites"

Please edit your signature to comply with the new rule. Thanks.

You can do whatever you want on your own site and just like the account sales rule, linking to them from your sig (to a site other than DP) is ok.
