Social bookmarking and networking sites are very high traffic sites and have the potential to explode a site's traffic. Do users actually click on ads when they visit your site especially slashdot and Digg users? Has anyone actually made a big amount from these visitors?
Both my site and my blog have hit it big on Digg. Earnings and CTR were low for both. But what was very valuable was all the incoming links.
You can make a little off the instant traffic, but the value there doesn't compare to what Tearabite mentioned, which is the incoming links.
It worked for me but compared to traffic nope. I eanred like 10$ . But if you think wisely those people know the difference between actual add and normal links. So there is no point of thinking that those traffic can get u money. they can increase ur alexa rank thats it
i believe it's better not expecting money from those sites. i expect backlinks and visitors from those web sites not money
I get good PR backlinks from Del.icio.us and good traffic from Stumbleupon So ya they work for me atleast
