Ok I don’t know but can’t you just ask for a new IP from your ISP. I was reading my ISP’s FAQs and it said that every time I log on my IP is different.
I've used tor privoxy to change my ip, made new accounts but nothing works, its too bad. Oh well ------------------------------------------------------------------- Submit, download, and vote for your favorite Torrents @ runkill.com/torrents.htm
The majority of people will only 'digg' something if they think it is worthy anyway. It's not like a charity collection box shoved in your face which puts you under pressure to donate right there and then, this is the internet and people are safe from that kind of on the spot pressure. Promoting stories is fine that is what the internet is about, and asking somebody to dig it is a bit of a non-issue when you consider that nearly every single one of the stories on digg.com has at some point had a digg-request made for it at some point. It really is a minority which will digg something they don't digg anyway, you wouldn't wash my car if I asked you to would you...
So Cutting Edge do you have the inside running on this? Because what you are saying Digg allow is precisely what Digg banned some of us for. Some were spammers but others were providing Digg with promotion, backlinks, visitors and enthusiasm. Otherwise you're just agreeing with us and disagreeing with Digg. What would be nice would be to get a Digg staffer to give us the official standards - not enter into a row - but just talk to us.
its possible an admin or mod who has access to your ip here has been sharing it with admin at digg. or possibly they are admin at both places?
I'm a mod, and the thread starter. None of the other mods have let slip that they were involved in my ban!
Does Netscape have a problem trading votes to or just Digg? Same story I would have posted today on digg got indexed #1 for its keyword on Google News, so their loss.
Look, the bottom line is, Social Media is big money now. with the acquisitions of My Blog Log, and Stumble just recently, not to mention feed burner, this is the .com money train missing since the 90's. No one with time and money involved is going to sit back and let their creation get "bum rushed" by fake, or "click gangs" therefore making the site easy to manipulate and worthless. Use your head, do it the right way, and stop trying to fake the numbers with worthless traffic, and all will be well. How about submitting a great article and getting natural Diggs <end rant, and scene>
Could somebody check this out respond here or on the thread. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=370128 thanks
I myself got my account disabled for digg exchanging around here. This happened 5 minutes ago. Even though I lik with digg I don't think its worth crying about. If they want to ban 100,000 users of theirs it their problem in the end.
Does not seem to be anyway for Digg to catch you pimping a competitor's link in hopes of getting their domain banned.
most of the articles on the front page of digg are pure drama or top ten ways to masterbate. any decent article that carries intelligent information wont usually get more than a few diggs.
Yep, you are absolutely right. that's why you don't submit an average article when Paris Hilton is in jail, or some cute puppy video is going around. It's called marketing. Unless you have millions for marketing, you have to be smart about it, and "Click gangs" and "You digg me and I'll digg you" is not the way to success. Why does everyone think these sites are stupid. Companies whos business is the web, SURF THE WEB! Do you really think that nobody from Digg was ever going to see one of these threads? Don't you check your website to see if anyone is copying content?
You pretty much nailed it. That's what happens when the majority of your userbase is immature teenagers.
yeah, unless you got the most up to date current event content or the most catchy article, no chance to get the front page. Is digg down right now or do they ban you from digg entirely?
The system is kind of a joke. 100% of Kevin's stories have gone popular. Are the stories really that popular or is it diggers kissing butt?
Digg has many flaws just like any other system in use anywhere. There have been many articles about digg selling the front page and how a few diggers controll what makes it to the front page. The only thing I can say is that it still isn't a bad site although it has it's flaws.
