Digg - no good for getting sites indexed?

This might not be the same for everyone, but this is what I've noticed.

I've tried getting a site indexed with digg alone. Everytime I do this, my digg article ranks in the top 10 for the term I want to rank for, then a few hours later, my domain shows up there.

However, this only lasts for 2-3 days. Then the digg article disappears from top 10 and same goes for my site. My site usually ends up nowhere to be found for the term, but is however still indexed in google.

Is this normal if you're getting a site indexed using only digg? How do you personally digg your sites to get them indexed - do you digg an article on your site or the homepage itself?

What I'm thinking might be the cause of this is the fact that my site gets a temporary PR 6 backlink from Digg's upcoming page, which quickly disappears once my digg article is off the upcoming page. Maybe Google doesn't like this.

    Thoughts please? :)

Hmm, alright. I might give that a try - submitting the homepage..

Please don't post if you have nothing to contribute to the thread.

Have you noticed that your site also dies down in the SERPS once the digg story dies down in the SERPS?

whenever i have started a campaign to get more diggs to my story , each artcle has brought over 100 hits via organic to my website
moreover this way i have beaten many strong pages such as indiatimes.com etc or even the official govt websites with pr for certain keywords as that digg page outweighs all of them

Yes, we all know digg is good for getting sites indexed quick, but I'm just wondering if anyone's experience the same problems as I am. Refer to the original post.

And don't spam digg unless you wanna get banned by them!

though the traffic dropped as they were news articles and became less popular with time but they still maintain their postion in serps (in top three and over a year old) and
some pages have even managed to get a pr ( i don't know how and still researching how )

    Thanks for the info.

I know how to get ranked. I never even asked how to get ranked, so I don't know what you're on about. It's just that I had issues getting a few sites indexed with the help of Digg and wondered if anyone had any similar experiences.

Spam digg? You don't even know what sites/articles I'm submitting...

Again, thanks for contributing nothing to the thread. :)

I am a member of good social networks and earned good stats on them . My posts get indexed easily and helps me to get good ranking too . When you submit story in digg try to get some thumbs up and promote it in other networks too .

It helps me too to get ranked but the OP must have some MFA with duplicate content, so it gets de-indexed after the page disappears from digg

I've noticed some people add many friends. I guess that helps get them diggs and thumbs up, especially if you digg their stuff, so I guess I'll try that. Never tried adding anyone, but definitely had a few people adding me randomly.

No 330td, sorry to say we don't all make MFA sites that make 5 cents a day like you do.
