Just wondering if any money can be made from running a digg like site. Is the digg market saturated?

I own a site not exactly like digg but a niche one, though i am working not sure if it would be successful.
What sort of effort required in looking after such sites?

Just curious to hear your different opinions on this. :D:D

In my opinion, you've picked a decent sized niche, and your domain told me what it was about without the page loading. So to that point, very good.

I think if you can enable the buttons to be enabled on the users sites as digg lets you, you'd be a bigger sucsess.

There are niche versions of digg that I love, and some that seem popular enough to make some money. Sphinn for example. Plus these.

So I think it's possible, with some work (since every kind of website requires some promotion.)

I actually prefer some niche sites to various areas of digg itself due to the fact there is more spam on digg and the stories on the niche ones are better. Anyways i like how you decided to do a nice off digg and you've picked a reasonably large niche too which is good. Good Luck :D

BTW i saw no ads on your site - have you added them yet?

As of now i have no intention of making money from new born sites like mine. Once it takes on sometime later i will install ads.

Thanks guys for encouraging me :)

If you go into deep niches, or if you operate a general site properly targeting an area that digg doesn't prevail in, then you can easily make lots of $$.

    Ha...

another pligg site. I have 3 and they are not profitable. For me, Blog and conventional content site are easier to monetise.
