    Hi,

Just doing the ordinary trying to develop backlinks thing, and I find Digg. Hmmm. Cool. Looks like comments are dofollow. I post. Oh wait, mine is nofollow.

    Par example this thread:
    http://digg.com/tech_news/Flickr_To_Add_Online_Photo_Editing_Tools

Some are do, some are nofollow. Can someone solve this mystery for me?

Ohh! I also have this query. Sometimes I also observed that "our submitted post goes through secured access".

If anybody know, let us know. It helps a lot in building links...

I noticed today that the articles and links I submit to DIGG are nofollow, this was not the case yesterday. Did something just change?

It seems like links in new comments are nofollow.. story links still seem to be normal links.

On mine it appears as though only the sponsored diggs are dofollow.

Digg just announced that they will put nofollow on any outbound links that they "can't trust." Not sure what they're using for trust...

It is similar to Alexa Reviews - No way to authenticate when a user posts a feedback if it is a genuine user or just a competitor trying to pull you down. If Digg starts this - they should let others know what all is required to fall in trusted bracket.

Soon headers would contain meta tags from Yahoo, Google, Bing, Stumbleupon and Digg etc in efforts to promote authentic site owners!

Wow, that does not make me so comfortable. So does anyone know who exactly does Digg classify as 'trusted'? I did not find an announcement addressing this issue specifically.

    Thanks.

This is a sad news to SEO community. But this can curb spammers who are in digg for only backlink.
