Your site have to have at least 5 million visits a month.

If you are a big site with lots of traffic generating thousands of dollars in revenue every day, then you can become a premium publisher. At least, that would be my guess!

Forget that, how do they get thousands of people to write content for them for FREE! It's amazing to think that they have an army of slaves providing fresh, new content for them daily...at no charge. Gotta be the biggest scam on the net to date.

If you are asking about Digg, in my opinion, it was the fact that Kevin Rose promoted the site on his TV show (not telling anyone it was his site) that kick started the whole thing. After that, word of mouth made it very popular among the tech people. Later the popular media started using Digg as an example of the new Web and popularity increased among the rest of the population. Finally, don't forget that the vast majority of people who use Digg never contribute to the site; most people do not write comments and I bet many don't even have an account. It is the small number of fanatics that keeps Digg going. This is my opinion of course and I could be wrong.

I don't see the point of the rollover. I am not sure if it results in higher click through.

Jealous much? Do you think all of the programming for that site was simple? It was a great idea, and well implemented.
