Recently I been trying to learn more about digg.com, how to use it to get traffic. What I found is there is no alternative then uniqueness and usefulness there. Having articles which are unique and useful brings results. I will give an example. Today I posted an article titled "83% people believe gas prices largely being manipulated by politicians" http://digg.com/world_news/83_people_believe_gas_prices_largely_being_manipulated_by_politicians Within an hour after posting I got several hundred visitors. Which is good to have. But I am not sure how targeted those visitors would be. They would come back or just another stumbleupon.com? Like to hear your opinion.
Traffic from digg is gud for nothing. let me tell u, digeers dont click in ads, so if u earn from adsense than digg is not going to help, they doesnt reply/comment on actual site, insted they will comment at digg.
Yup its useless if your aim is to get a few of adsense clicks per day - but thats not the case almost always. Bottomline: Targeted Traffic >> Digg/SU Traffic, but Any traffic = Good.
Its a lot of work also writing a good content so people at digg click on it. I believe most of them will read just the page they land on. As per adsense chances are slim to earn something as you guys said. Positive thing is, you introduce a new site like mine, to some people. Probably 1% people will come back.
Digg traffic is even worse than SU. Digg however does wonder in terms of SEO because so many people blog about top stories and use their feeds etc.
The value of digg is in the link. Your story will get carried many times around the net and will get good ranking in SEs
