Digg and social traffic not useful

Have you realized that traffic from social media does not convert to clicks?

 

Nope. They don't since they are not targeted.

 

Mostly useful just for traffic and marketing. Don't expect clicks to increase by much though.

You need a way to convert them to reader.. usually Social media traffic stumble the page and leave. Give them easy navigation to other posts and thus that will help you to get click on your ads.

 

Social Traffic like this can be very good for click earnings. Say you have an article about Car insurance.... You may not get a lot of visitors but the ones who do visit are generally interested nonetheless... at least it has been working for me.

 

I advise my serious Adsense customers (the ones who are running an Adsense business, not Adsense on a hobby blog) to use social bookmarking to build backlinks. I also advise them to keep Adsense OFF THE SITE during this period of bookmarking submissions especially if employing tools like bookmarking demon. During this period, I advise a popup with CPA ads for free t-shirts or things like that. You can get anywhere from $1-$20 per lead this way. Once the site is indexed, you can put Adsense in there. Just my $0.02.

The CTR is much lower than search engine since they are not targeted enough. So, better focus on SEO

 

they are just give an extra backlink to your website.

Yes, social bookmarking sites are mainly used by web savvy people and those people are a special population on internet. It's in this category that you'll find most users of ad blockers and javascript switched off, and even those who do see the ads know about them and don't read/click on them.

But when you get a front page of digg.com the traffic is such that even 0.5% who click on adsense makes many more clicks than an usual day.
That being said, it doesn't happen often to make it to the front page of digg, so most of the time, like 99.99% you submit your link for a backlink and hoping that maybe, this time... like playing the lottery.

 

I do use social bookmarking because they get indexed by search engines, so if I submit my site to all these social bookmarks they show up in the SERPs in like one hour or less with the tags I wrote, I think it does work somewhat

 

I believe that Social Site such as Digg can be used as a community for your site or product.

Say suppose you own a car site and you publish articles on various issues related to car. If you Digg those articles regularly and also work on Digg not only from marketing but to communicate about your site, it can be very fruitful in long term.

Digg is a place where people across world read useful content, so if you have something useful to showcase its a great place to build a community.

 

most the users on Digg these days are webmasters spamming their sites, their general user base has dropped right off, but still good to help kick start a website.

 

There main reason is because those SB traffic is not targeted. People who came across your sites do not necessary want to read your site's articles. Just that maybe your article's title catches their attention. They come to your site and leave immediately. That's it!

Try to do more SEOs, as this will bring more targeted traffic. These targeted traffic found your website based on your content. Together, with the relevant adsense ads shown on your site. You will attract more adsense clicks.

 

But we get traffic to our site
