Guys Well i have seen dedicated servers with processors as Core2Quad whats the diffrence between Core2Quad and Core2Duo ?
Core 2 Duo is a processor with 2 cores and the Core 2 Quad is a processor with 4 cores. So basically, Core 2 Duo has 2 physical processors built onto one chip and the Core 2 Quad has 4 physical processors built onto the chip. - Dynashox -
It's simply the amount of processors within the chip itself. Duo has 2 and Quad has 4, the more processors that more power.
It should. At least your apps and OS should be able to better utilize all 4 cores. Some apps I believe are not (well not yet perhaps) optimized for quad processing. Let's say some games for example. But these should have been updated already, seeing 4 cores out in the market for some time now.
core 2 quad dose a 4 min work in 1 min.. and core 2 duo dose it in 2 min.. quad is 4times p4 and duo is 2 times p4 thats all in simple words..!
Core2Duo: 2x core = 2 cores Core2Quad: 4x core = 4 cores Instances, 2.0 Ghz Core2Duo: 2.0 Ghz x 2 cores = 4Ghz Core2Quad: 2.0 Ghz x 4 cores = 8Ghz

Core 2 Duo IS NOT better for gaming - it's just cheaper and in most cases the extra money you'd have to pay for a Quad just does not give enough extra performance to recommend one (with the new i5 and i7 processors you actually can not buy a dual core CPU any more, so this dilemma will soon be over). Anyway - servers are completely different beasts than gaming computers. Quad is better if you plan to run many websites on it and it is almost mandatory if your server will be doing any video encoding, because in this case a quad will actually do the work 2x faster than a duo. Please don't write, that a duo 2.0GHz is 4.0GHz and that a quad is 8GHz - the only people that seem to get away with this are Ebay sellers. A quad can be two times faster than a duo if th application it is running is threaded enough - it has to be written for multi core processors.
The main difference is that Core2Duo has 2 cores while Core2Quad has 4 cores. Cache memory is more in Core2Quad as compared to Core2Duo.
Actually some i5's are Dual core. For example the i5 650. Also Dual Cores are generally better for gaming as most games are not optimized for 4 cores yet. And dual cores, being cheaper mean you can buy a higher FSB, thus, when overclocking you can achieve 4.5-5Ghz+ in a dual core. Quads are generally used for multitasking as more cores allow more processes to run in individual cores. This is why many servers use hex-cores (6-cores) or octo-cores (8-cores).
core2duo- in that only 2 core is used.it has working is slowly. core2quad-in that 4 core is used.it has working is speedly as compair to core2duo.
