Differnce between Page Visit & Page Hit?

    Can anyone tell me please what's the difference between page visit and page hit?

    visit = unique visitor = per IP
    hit = visit + refreshes = per request

    Just to add a note..

    Visits= unique IP's per day.. next day the same ip will generate another visit. (awstats)

    Pageviews = all the pages + reloads that have been loaded on your website

    hits = every object that is loaded from your site. pages/images/css files etc.
