Differentiating true bounce rate from ad click throughs.

    Summary:

My one site has always ran and operated with *zero* ads until January. I held about a 21-23%% bounce rate up until that point. Since then I've been running Adsense, and some EPN stuff. My bounce rate now averages around mid 43-48% according to Google Analytics. My question is, how can I differentiate Ad click throughs when people leave the site (which is good), from actual legitimate bounce offs? I'm questioning this, because at the same time I added the ads, I also did a significant redesign of the site. Probably a bad idea to change both metrics at one time in hindsight, but too late now. My main concern is dictating and finding out if the increase in bounce percentage is mostly (Or if I'm lucky, all) from the ad click throughs...or if its related to the change in design and lay out of the content.

Try to remove ads from home page and landing pages of your site.

you can redirect all clicks via page that has also analytics on it. So main page view + click will result in 2 page views in analytics (not a bounce)
