Different versions for different domains and crawlers

Ok, I've got sort of an SEO question. I've got two domains. One I really like, and one that I just used at first.

The one I used first got indexed and everything and it's coming along alright I suppose, kind of a newbie to seo, but trying to learn. At any rate, the second domain has keywords in it, and seems like it would be great if I could get it indexed too.

The problem is, all the SE's ignore it, they must see it as duplicate to the other. You think it would be a bad idea to generate slightly different page content dependent on which domain is being viewed?

I'd almost rather get rid of the original domain, and keep the second, but I don't want to do all the reindexing stuff again, took forever. =)

    ----

Also, does anyone here generate different pages specifically for different crawlers? Since they give out their versions, you really could feed them each a different page, optimized for that specific engine.

Maybe you could put very different content on the newer cooler domain - optimized for the same desired keyword / phrases and point some links at it (not from your other site).

Let it age and then migrate the old site over to the new.

It really depends on how far you have really come with the first site in terms of search results. If you haven't got your top ten's or even top twenties than I'd just switch to the newer domain.

I kinda like the rankings for my site on msn and yahoo, google sucks, but oh well. I'm afraid a domain with links would look like a doorway page. What would I have to do to keep it from looking like just a doorway page to the SEs?

Does this look like a horrid doorway page? it probably does, suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how i could avoid it, if it's a bad thing, i just hate wasting a good domain.
