    Hello,

I just bought a domain name and I am considering using Google Apps to manage my emails (Gmail for your domain).

    However, I wonder about something.

For example, I have an email address: contact@site.com

If I send a mail from the site via a script, the sending server will be the one were my website is hosted right?

But if somebody reply to this email, the replying server will be the google one (gmail).

So do you think that could be drive me to be considered as spam because the sending and receiving servers are differents?

    Thanks for your help! :)

Nope. That doesn't matters unless the sender server is in any blacklist, if this is the case, it'll be marked as spam.

personally if i see a site owner using a different email recipient address than his very own domain, then i know that he has NO faith in his server and his admin/webmaster capabilities = which leads to a reduced trustwortiness.

a site owner who knows what he is doing - hence a true www-professional, will stick to his own domain-email address rather than gmail or any other.
if i look at all the free mail services - there is almost none that has not yet been repeatedly abused by spammers.

i would NEVER do online business with anyone having a domain but using another free anonymous mail server for in OR outgoing mail.
