I created a website for my brothers business a few monthes ago. It didn't take long to get listed with msn and yahoo but I haven't seen anything from google. Today my brother calls me up and tells me he found the site on google. I get excited and try to look up the site myself while I'm on the phone with him. The site is luckyduct.net I type "lucky duct" into google and nothing from the site shows up. I double checked with my brother to make sure his search wasn't different somehow but he swears all he searched for is "lucky duct". I even had him spell it out to me but for some reason his search results are different then mine. He sees the site listed as number four but I can't see it at all. Does anyone have an idea on why this is happening? I've been doing a lot of reading about search engines but I don't recall ever reading about any thing like this before.
Read the forums more and you will see many references to multiple datacenters (datacentres) This happens when you are reaching a different computer or datacenter than your brother.
So is it safe to assume that these datacenters will eventually synchronize themselves and I just have to wait for the info to propagate across the different datacenters? That might sound like an obvious question but I really don't know anymore when it comes to this stuff. A few monthes ago I never imagined that it would take so long to get listed on google.
Yes and no... The thing is the one that looks good to you may be the fluke and will go back to the prior results, but other times it is the one that has the newest data and it then is propagated to the other data centers.
If you and your brother are in different countries, then each of you maybe using the localised Google search engine (like google.co.in for India etc). Google presents slightly different results for different countries.
