    Quick question.

Wanted to see what others experience.. our main website has a .ca domain.

When I search our main keyword on yahoo.com, it's no where to be seen... i.e. I can't see the result myself. However, by regularly referring to stats, I know others are seeing it and also clicking and landing on our page. When I click the search.yahoo.com/search referral link (from the stats interface).. I don't see the search result myself. When I modify the url by adding ca to the beginning and clicking enter i.e. ca.search.yahoo.com/search, we appear on the first page. Let me add that this first page result is only because of searching on yahoo.ca, not because of restricting the search to Canadian websites. yahoo.ca giving preferrence to showing Canadian sites makes sense. That's not the question.

well... the question is why do they make this difference of serving results (on yahoo.com) differently by the searcher's geographical location. Since I'm based in Canada, it would be more understandable, if I saw the site appearing more myself (I'm in Canada and the site is .ca), and someone else in UK got it served less.. but the reality is the oppisite. They see it and I don't.

Interesed in knowing what others experience?

Hi I just posted a new related tread European country searches on "Localcountry".search.Yahoo.com vs search.Yahoo.com.
Why would cookies have an impact? - You mean it would based on site-visitor location and competitiveness for the query on the various versions of Yahoo search. Right?

This thread should be closed. It doesn't work to have an outdated (2005) question elaborated on now.
