Different Keyword Position Results?

I set up the keyword tracker using:

    http://www.bluewidgets.com

When I track a particular keyword, it returns a position ranking 44 even though I don't have any page showing around 44. Manually, google shows me ranked at 6.

If I set up the URL as:

    http://www.bluewidgets.com/

the keyword tracker returns the correct results as 6 (index page).

That is just an example URL I made up. The different results aren't keyword specific, I get different rankings on any keyword I use (They are all two words) and I just couldn't figure out why the results differ with the forward slash? I noticed that google uses the forward slash and if I enter it in that way, it appears to give me correct results. I didn't see that in the FAQ and that explains why I was getting results that didn't match my manual searches.

Well the slash shouldn't matter though. The system uses a pattern match, so anything that matches should work. If you have a specific URL/keyword example that is reporting incorrectly for you (even without slash), let me know and I'll have a look.

I've noticed the tracker missing results on occasion too. a search for college wrestling news shows #25 when there is another result at #16. Not sure why that is.

when checking my own results it rather looks to me as adding domain/ will show results for any page in my site where as domain without the / only shows the results for the index page in the keyword tracker... not saying that is how it _IS_ just how it looks to me.
