Google web history causes different browsers to give different results.

It is rather hard to be certain, the position a site will show up for a keyword.

Google web history will distort the results.

    I was searching for GROL.

I was getting different results for FireFox and Opera. I find a blog that said web history will distort the results.

I turned web history off in my google account. Now FireFox and Opera search results are identical.

IE was giving different results. I had to signed in to my google account in IE.

That caused the search results in google to be identical to FireFox and Opera.

For those of you; that like web history.

Here is a link to rank checker website.

just log out of your google (gmail) account in both browsers and search again, that's it.

Be sure both browser search with Google.com. Go to google.com/intl/en/ on all browser. Your search result must have same result.

I have some insight into this topic if anyone is still interested. Since I have been using Google Chrome as my primary browser, I started noticing that I would get inconsistent results between Chrome and other browsers. However, if you type in your search term into Google itself instead using a tool bar or your address bar, you should always get the same results.

I am still not sure why this happens. Can anyone explain?

you need to delete history in all browsers. Then it will give same rankings in all browsers.

Not to start an argument or anything, but I think that you are wrong.

Explain to me why your browsers web history would effect the search engine results in Google only and no other browsers.
Why would a site that I visited a few hundred times show up on Google page 8 in Firefox and not in Chrome? Please provide a better explanation.

No issue. You just need to search after deleting your cookies. and you must restart the browser after deleting cookies
