ok i m a newbie and want some advice of seo experts suppose i want to rank for certain long tail keywords (obviously hving high cpc) so what would be a better strategy? suppose i have hotels.com and i want to rank for the keyword - hotels in america 1. by a different domain name containing those long tail keywords like hotelsinamerica.com 2. use subdomain like hotelsinamerica.hotels.com (sounds weirds lol but who cares, i want google traffic) .but sadly it wont pass any link juice i guess and would have to start link building process all over again for this one . (i h ope i m not wrong) 3. use subfolder/subpage (not sure whats the major diffference between those 2) like hotels.com/hotels-in-america/ (this will pass link juice of main domain i guess) but i have heard that keyword in domain name is very decisive factor in seo . does keyword in url mean same as keyword in domain name ? kinda confused so maybe i have confused myself a lot ......so plz a seo guru with great knowledge plz clear my doubts
A sub-domain with the keywords in it might help, but realistically you need not to create a sub-domain for keywords you're targeting. A simple page with the keywords in the title and url will suffice. To be honest, Google is thinking about placing less weight on keywords in the domains, and putting more weight on the authority of links pointing to that page. So, at the end of the day, it all comes back to the links that point to your site. Comment links and forum links will not have much weight for much longer. Home page links and article links will keep your site running strong.
ok thanks for ur advice....so what do u advice basically keeping in mind adsense....isnt it better to have a new keyword containing domain with high paying long tail keywords / low competition because it looks like i cant beat the big boys out there as mine is quite a competitive niche :O so wouldnt it be better ?
