Hiyya! Say for instance I wanted to create 10 directories. It would be advantageous for me to have these with their own C class IP. Are there any recommended reseller hosting companies that will do this? I asked my company (heart internet) and they said it was in breach of some sort of regulation (RIPE) and they wouldnt do it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Debra
We have own C class IP It is our preferred option Not sure about the hosting but many offer this service
Personally, I don't think it affects you much if you are all on same IP... but thats just my opinion... I could very well be wrong, lol
Someone else shares your opinion http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/myth-busting-virtual-hosts-vs-dedicated-ip-addresses/
So if there were 10 directories on the same IP, and they all linked together, would google see this as reckless link exchanging? Or... as there all the same subject matter as in "directories" this would be ok and the PR strength passed to each link exchange would be the same as if the direcotories were on different IP's?
I run more than 3 on the same IP and they are interlinked - as far as I am able to tell they have not suffered the penalties of "reckless link exchange".
if they all were dupes of each other, absolutely. I mean, if each site was identical, then Google would see your sites as just Mirrors and penalize you... but I think it's fine if they are all different ...
First if you make 10 DIR's don't link them together, maybe all link to 1 main site but if you link ALL of them it looks like a link farm. "Class C IP" whats the difference with class a or b? Sorry to sound ignorant. Does class C mean it has *.*.*.* where the last 2 *'s are different then the 1st? I do know that for affliate programs 1.1.1.* is all considered the same, you need 1.1.*.* to be considered different. I wonder how google looks into that?
