Hi guys I'm new to blogging and was just wondering... Lets say I want to Blog about 5 categories that have no relevance with one-another, would it be wise to set up different blogs altogether for each category, or just have them on the one blog? E.g. lets say I had Video Games as one Category and Sports as another, should I make videogames.blogspot.com and sports.blogspot.com or put them together in one blog? Hope that makes sense
Unless you want to create a general blog then my suggestion is to create different blog for different niches. That way, it is easy for you to market your blog for targeted visitors. - Dynashox -
If the categories were all complimentary like the 2 you mention - I would say that you could do well with all on 1 blog with the appropriate name (ie. something common to all). Aren't video games and sports related as their are a lot of sports video games.
I would do it on different blogs, but when topics have tangential points I link them - so I woul handle the sports and video games example. Make one blog for each topic and when you report on a video game related to sports (Tony Hawk Skateboarding, FIFA 10,...) then connect them.
I would do different blogs.....it seems that it seems to be easier to market your blog the more narrow the niche. Also if you have any related content then you can link between your different blogs and that should be very helpful.
In general blog, you can make blog (for example) sportblog with categories sportvideo, soccer, tennis, etc. Or one blog for each niche
It will be difficult to maintain 5 blogs, but it will be more fruitful when you will optimize them if they are stick to their niches, all of them. It depends on how hard are you ready to work. i 1. If you can devote a lot of time and hard work. go for 5 blogs and keep each of them stick to its subject. you will gain ranks faster, your visitors will be happier and more loyal which will return you a lot in coming time. 2. If you are not very sure, there is no risk in trying out and gain experience with single blog, write daily and see results, optimize and see results, promote and see results. Gain experience and initial money then go for niche special blogs. Got the point? Regards Parul Sharma
I think 5 blogs is a bit too much. You may find it easier to build backlinks to one blog rather than five blogs. If a few categories are static, you may incorporate into one main blog, and set up different pages with the main blog
