Hi sorry for my noob question. can i know what is really different between this three type of google edition. is it edition of their script for search engine? now using hummingbird right? why many site being kicked or banned by google when they implement hummingbird. thanks for your times to help me..
We should start with the beginning then. Panda was launched on Feb 2011 and his target was to de-index the poor quality websites. The Panda Algorithm was full implemented on April 2011 and affected most of the low quality websites, over 30% of these kinds were affected, as well the Page Rank was decreased as importance. Penguin update came after 1 year, starting the implementing and testing from Jan 2012 and being effecting on April 2012 - this algorithm was the first that was aiming directly against the "black hat methods" that are were not accepted into the Google Webmaster Guidelines - the "bible" of Google that has to be respected from their point of view. Hummingbird was starting to be tested from 20 August 2013, when I saw a big difference started in YouTube video rankings and then in all the other Google products, and was officially released on 27 September 2013 - by a nice presentation made by Matt Cutts himself. The implementing of Hummingbird was made for giving a more "human" approach to the searching results offered by Google, as an improving of understanding from the Google over the human language and behavior. As well, this new algorithm is able to "make the difference" from many black hat methods and penalized them instantly. I hope that I've succeed to give you a small idea about what these 3 algorithms means. About how many websites were "banned" or "kicked" there is no such a thing in Google Ranking - the only negative effect is the penalized, meaning, their keywords status was so bad decreased on the searching engine, some of the websites being positioned on the pages 20-30 after the implementing of each algorithm.
woww.. great simple explanation.. so its start from panda, then penguin and now hummingbird.. my next question is how to get best ranking on this new hummingbird algorithm. is it still okay to submit to directories? blog commenting? sharing on google +?
Regarding how to rank with the hummingbird you must be aware that you have to follow all the other Google Algorithms that are still there, Hummingbird is just an update or add-on. From my point of view - that here in DP is not so accepted - I would suggest the following: 1. Good website structure, good content without grammar errors and with a close to perfection English or native language (if is the case). Google now is very sensitive to these aspects. 2. Promoting your website on all the big channels - social networking is a must 3. Create backlinks in the high PR - forums/blogs - if they're accepted. 4. Try to promote these blogs for the keywords that you want to be found. 5. DON'T SPAM - in the moment when you're posting "chaotic" backlinks or content regarding your website with a suspected speed - you'll be penalized and will be very hard to recover yourself. P.S. there is a large discussion regarding how the SPAM is detected and I still wait for Google answers regarding this thing.
Panda & Penguin are algorithmic update... However, Hummingbird is all about processing user search terms faster & effective... Find out more about hummingbird here: http://seodiary.in/seo/google-hummingbird-update-a-closer-look
