Different between Black Hat and White Hat SEO techniques?

They are all arbitrary names that mean little or nothing anyway.

 

Black hat SEO is so easy and well worth it.
and by the way grey hat is inbetween from what i remember.

 

These discussions are really hilarious to watch.

What is Black Hat? What is White Hat? and now thanks to Mike we have Grey Hat...

The truth here is if you wouldn't feel comfortable calling Google up and telling them what you are doing then you probably should not be doing it.

Of course black hat can be a quick boost in traffic, but at the rate Google is catching "spammers" you will barely get your site moving before it gets slapped..

Now I'm sure there will be some spammer who says they have been doing black hat for months and haven't been caught, but eventually you will.

I think this all boils down to what are you trying to do online...

Build a rock solid long term business or just looking for some quick cash and don't care how you get it.

We run into this a lot in the Affiliate Marketing arena as well...

Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

 

I've had a website up for years using some black hat techniques and google haven't updated to catch me out.
black hat is norty
gray hat is inbetween
white hat is good.

For those of you trying to follow along Black and White are considered extremes. Most of BHers are not really Black hat, they just think the tag is cool. It's kind of like you can't really call yourself a hacker ... someone must glorify you with that title. BTW: Hacker != Cracker ... very different. Crackers are malicious in intent. A hacker is just trying to learn something by banging their head up against a wall until something useful comes out.

People have mentioned blue hat, while for this discussion is about shades of grey ... the smartest mad hatter I've ever run across is Eli over at bluehatseo

He shares a good portion of information for free but I must warn you that he is very advanced in his tactics. If you don't know quite a bit about this stuff he will make absolutely no sense at all. If you do ... time to free your mind and learn from the master for a few days.

 

Thanks. I never heard of Blue Hat - I'll check it out. I've seen some pretty advanced things, but you can always pickup something new...

I want to see your definitions - 1 per person.

 

Black hat is seo that is intended to trick search engines to give higher serp results for site that is not rated high.

White hat is doing Seo that is approved by search engines and does not use tricks to manipulate serp results.

 

Well IMO:
blackhat = throwing some sh*t at the wall and hope that some of it will stick
whitehat = working your a$$ off to get a good position for your main keywords

I prefer greyhat, it's much better and it can give you long term placements in the serps.

 

black hat=spam, illegal, and short term
white hat=legid, legal, long term

When you are doing a SEO for your site beyond the Google guidelines called Black HAT SEO.

If you are following the Google guidelines for SEO is called White HAT SEO.

Both the methods are good to drive traffic, but the only thing concerns to me is the long term business. Using blackhat techniques you can increase your website traffic instantly. But the benefit will be for only a short period. But if you follow the white hat techniques it will take time but the results will be good and the business you get will remain for long term.

black hat seo give bad result of website whatever white hat seo give good result.

 

Black Hat will get you banned and is in some cases unethical, white hat is good seo practice and will get you results a lot better as to Black Hat might get you faster results but not as good.

Search around for some articles on it dude.

 

White hat seo means the links that are generated naturally .Say you have one good article that is linked by a similar site on interest . Black hat seo includes link trading and other methods to fool search engines .
