Different amounts displaying on advanced reports compared to overview

Today is the first day I have bothered to do an advanced report. I'm really confused. The advanced report for today is showing over double the amount of money compared to the overview page. I have checked yesterdays and the last 7 days with both and they match.

Are the advanced reports more up to date that the overview? The advanced report is showing more page impressions (not a lot though) and less than it shows on analytics.

Any idea which is the correct amount?

I know that the reporting feature lags be a few hours be surely the overview and advanced reports would use the same data?

It seems that the advance reports do give more accurate picture. I have checked my overview again and they now match.
