In my Google webmasters tool , under Links-> Pages with external links Code (markup): shows very high number of back links. While link:domain-name.com Code (markup): shows completely different number of back links any idea why this is?
Under webmaster tool: Links-> Pages with external links This is the definition Google has put up: Pages with external links Help Pages with external links Domain-name.com This table provides a list of pages on http://domain-name.com/ that have links pointing to them from other sites. Click the number in the External links column to see a sample list of links to the page. See Internal links for internal links and links from subdomains. Code (markup): The way I understand this section is also showing backlinks to my site, right? If that's right, the backlinks show in this section has huge difference with the backlinks shown with "links:domain-name.com"
where as i know i think both back link as well as external link are different thing, comment me please if i m wrong.
don't look at google for the backlinks. try yahoo and you will see the difference. Google is doomed.... yahoo search all the search engine index.
Link:your domain means Quality back link for google Link:space your domain means all back links in google. [Do Follow and No Follow]
This is cause Google don't want people to extract the backlinks of a good ranking site and start putting there links on those sites. And in Google web master central tool External links means backlinks.
