Difference if you use www and without for blogger

Hi,

i just realised something when i was trying to explore url for my blog in the following formats from yahoo site explorer:
http://www.sti-stocksinfo.blogspot.com
http://sti-stocksinfo.blogspot.com/

They gave different results for different formats. The first format was the one that i sent to yahoo site explorer. I notice a very small traffic from yahoo SE. So that brings to my attention that the format for submitting to site explorer matters? With www and without www.

Can anyone explain the rational?

So now i need to submit and authenticate my blog with 2 links like below


so i am just curious if posting my article through my blog with www and without will make any difference?

 

Redirect example.com to www.example.com

Use a 301 redrect

 

Redirecting is definately the way forward.
You could also do it in your htaccess file.

 

There could be a different result if you donut do 301 redirections..

 

301 is the best way

 

it doesn't matter but if www. then its only feel good factor

now the question is, got any reference how to do it for blogger? is it by editing the template html?

lol i tried to do a search, all results in redirect from blogger to a new domain

 

i think it does not matter for google search engine.

but for yahoo it matters, when i was trying to explore the links for my blog with and without www, gives completely different results.
