Hi. I have this question: Do search engines treat a URL like xxx.com differently than xxx.com/index.php? Because sometimes in the SERPs they look like different and sometimes the PR value is different for both sites. Would be better to have all your site's links in one format or another?
xxx.com and xxx.com/index.php would be considered different. It is possible for both to have different page ranks as well. Always use top level when adding a link.
Yes they are treated differently, especially if you .htaccess doesn't always redirect to a singular style. Always make sure to link to your actual domain name.
Sure will be different if the inbound and outbound links is mixed with both. In SEO always keep adding every whare the same URL. Otherwise it will be shared
Consider using apache rewrite rules (redirect 301) in .htaccess file and don't bother about xxx.com and xxx.com/index.php
Agree with Kuzmanin but regardless of how you decide to rewrite your URL, don't have the two of them. It will always be better to consolidate your SEO efforts in xxx.com than in xxx.com/index.php
difference is when u click from home page xxx.com/index page display otherwise without index page display
www.site.com and www.site.com/index.EXT is 2 diffrent pages in search engines point of view. Even http://www.site.com and www.site.com sometimes become 2 different page.
