    Hello Fellow Marketers,

What do you think will be the main difference between today's marketing and marketing in the future[ lets say 2020]
I know it is hard to analyze but at least we are marketers and we can at least assme.
What will be the differences in your opinion between Today and 2020 Internet Marketing?

The only difference that I can see will be the vastly increased amount of crap websites online purely to make profits from selling advertisements. As if we didn't have enough already, thousands more are opening daily and copying content from elsewhere solely to earn money. What happened to starting a website for fun and then anything you get from there is just a nice little bonus?

7 years is AGES for such quickly changing environment.
    My guesses:
    • marketing will continue to move from offline to online (traditional advertising media will become online too - TV, radio, outdoor)
    • we will be observing more connected devices with online advertising possibilities (elevators, fridges, watches, cars)
    • marketing messages will be targeted more and more precisely due to collecting more data on users
    • content will still be the king, but only the valuable one - all the garbage will eventually die
    • the difference between advertising agencies and internet marketing agencies will disappear - as all agencies will be doing mostly online
    • probably people will finally get the option to pay (a lot) for not getting ads everywhere.

I think marketers will adapt because everything can be sold in a way or another. It is really kind of impossible to predict as we depend on the technological development such as gadgets for social networking and internet surf; we depend on social sites algorithms and we have to be prepared to face the junk that will be poured on the internet (as www is very accessible nowadays) and we can see an element that will be very used in the future> content. Marketers will have to find new ways to promote their good content.

I think by 2020 there will be more regulation of IM (I wouldn't go as far as saying it will be regulated), but it'll be taken more legitimately as a profession and the types of marketing regulated.

I think ad networks like Adsense will also become more restricted and probably close their doors to only b+ level publishers. It'll likely be harder to get your site popular, as social media will heavily influence search results and going viral will be one of the best ways to rank higher.
